Frequently asked questions:
Does Amazon deduct TCS under The Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 / TDS under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, 1961 for MCF orders?
No, Amazon will not deduct TCS under The Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 and TDS under section 194-O of the Income Tax Act, 1961 for MCF orders as it is only applicable on the gross sales of products and services by sellers on the online marketplace. In case of MCF order, the same does not happen on Amazon portal and hence, there is no requirement for Amazon to deduct TDS.
Does Amazon generate Dynamic QR codes (DQRC) on Shopper invoices for MCF orders?
DQRC was introduced by government of India to encourage digital payments where the customer can scan the QR Code and make payment directly using UPI-based payment Apps. While DQRC is required for Cash on Delivery (COD) transactions, Payment reference details are required to be printed in the invoice for pre-paid orders. Given MCF orders are pre-paid in nature, amazon would not generate QR codes and rather print the payment transaction ID and payment mode on the shopper invoice. Hence, every seller must provide the payment reference details for all MCF orders.
How will tax be computed on the invoices?
Amazon tax calculation system uses PTC to calculate tax on the products a seller lists on Amazon.in. Tax will be computed for all MCF orders based on the ‘per unit price’ provided during order creation, and PTC information input by you during listing creation or inbound shipment to fulfilment centers. PTCs are codes that are mapped to GST rates notified by the government (i.e. the percentage of taxes which are applicable for sale of product and services under GST). If you do not update PTC information during order creation, Amazon will use the default PTC set at Seller Central Account Level. For example, A_GEN_STANDARD@18%. Click here to learn more on how to update PTC.
I have my own or third-party invoicing solution, can I use it to generate invoices for MCF orders?
You can use your own or third-party GST-compliant invoicing solution as long as you use the same invoice number and tax details present in Seller Central for your orders.
Where can I get the invoice copy in Seller Central?
For MCF orders, you can print invoices from the Manage Your Orders page as shown above.
What addresses will be printed on the invoice?
Invoice will contain ship from address and registered business address. As the units are fulfilled from an Amazon fulfillment center, the ship from address will be picked based on the FCs which dispatches your items. The business address will be the same as updated on Seller Central.
Will my customers get this invoice during delivery?
Yes, your customers will receive an invoice copy as part of their delivery. You can also provide them a copy, by downloading the invoice through My Orders page.
